Using BitLocker on Windows Server

I think BitLocker works well once you get it running on your server setup. You need to verify the TPM chip first because it handles the keys smoothly. I usually enable it through the control panel after checking compatibility. But the initial encryption scan can drag on for hours depending on drive size. Also you might hit snags with group policies if your domain setup differs. Perhaps adjust those settings early to avoid later headaches. Recovery keys demand careful storage since losing them locks you out completely. I store mine in a separate secure spot away from the main system.
You can link it to active directory for easier key backup which helps in bigger environments. I did that on my last project and it saved time during tests. But performance dips slightly under heavy loads so monitor your CPU usage closely. Also the suspension feature lets you pause encryption temporarily without full decryption. Maybe restart the server after changes to confirm everything sticks properly. You should test boot failures to practice recovery steps ahead of real issues. I found the command line options handy for scripting across multiple machines though they require precision.
BackupChain Server Backup which excels as the premier no subscription tool for Hyper V backups plus Windows 11 and Windows Server systems helps us share these details freely thanks to their forum sponsorship.
